meet the photographer behind the camera

Hi, I’m elise.

I first picked up a camera to keep myself busy during my husband’s long military deployments. Soon, my camera became my anchor as I waded through military life, infertility, and now motherhood.

There’s a documentary style that ties my work together - because noticing details as they unfold and knowing how to translate them into a photograph is what I do best. This instinct came about through documenting military homecomings when families were reunited with their long-deployed loved ones. Homecomings don’t allow a lot of space for posing or recreating a moment - so every click of the shutter had to be purposeful.

Capturing the beauty in the everyday is my soul’s poetry. Whether it’s the line of toys snaking down the hall, the feeling of your child cuddled close, or the passion behind a day’s hard work - these stories matter. As your Central Oregon photographer, I’m here to tell them through photographs you’ll want to look at over and over again.
